sheet metal bending interpretation is a description of setting basic parameters in Solidworks, while the bending coefficient in the finger pinch optimization algorithm in sheet metal processing and production workshops for many years is an algorithm. Let’s take a look at the calculation methods in SolidWorks, together with our sheet metal fabrication shop.
In Solidworks, bending deduction is only used for 90-degree bending calculation of sheet metal parts. In fact, it can also be used for non -90-degree sheet metal unfolding calculation, the non -90 degree bend deduction must be applied based on the bending index table only. The non -90 degree bend index table varies from manufacturer to manufacturer and has variations. Or some sheet metal factories do not use many non -90 degree bends.
Today, I will share the key to how I know the 90-degree bend deduction is calculated.
There are about four optimization algorithms for bending inference
1.7 times the thickness of the material
Sheet metal factories usually apply 1.7 times the thickness of the material as a bending deduction. This method is a very simple calculation of sheet metal unfolds. It is not very precise. If the precision standard of sheet metal processing is not high, it can be used immediately. Different materials are likely to be different, aluminum alloy plate can be measured according to the 1.6 material thickness. Stainless steel plate can be measured by 1.8 times the thickness of the material.
Bending deduction = 2x material thickness 1/3 material thickness
This bending deduction calculation method is summarized through long-term sheet metal processing. This is also a simple calculation. The basic theoretical expression of this calculation method is: sheet metal expansion = length a length b-2 times the material thickness 1/3 material thickness widening index. The front is to measure the length of the shortest parallel line, plus the Rashin index. Everyone believes that metal sheet materials undergo tensile deformation during bending.
